Pyrenees Shire

Pyrenees Shire is located in the Central West of Victoria, about 130 km north west of Melbourne. It is heavily dependent on primary industry and is renowned for its, wool, viticulture and forestry activity. Thirty percent of the workforce is involved in agriculture.

The Pyrenees Ranges State Forest is in the Central. Victorian Goldfields approximately 200 kms north- west of Melbourne near the town of Avoca. It is a stunning destination that offers a mix of both culture and nature.

The Dogrock winery is nestled above the small township of Crowlands on the Western side of Victoria’s Pyrenees mountain range. Surrounded by rocky ridges on three sides, the vineyards lie in a horse shoe-shaped valley, each with their own distinct microclimate.

At Mount Buangor there is a 15km network of walking tracks, many extend into the adjoining Mount Cole State Forest. Middle Creek is a good spot for large groups to camp or for camping in caravans.
